Under Dulcinea’s leadership, Café Corazón and her work as an entrepreneur have earned significant recognition across Kansas City. She was named a Kansas City Business Journal NextGen Leader 2026, received the RISE Business Award 2026, and was selected as a Mayor’s Choice 816 Day Champion. Café Corazón was also awarded the 2026 Mr. K Small Business of the Year Award by the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce, recognizing it as Kansas City’s top small business, following its recognition for Equity & Inclusion by the Chamber.

Dulcinea Herrera is deeply committed to philanthropy and community empowerment. As a multidisciplinary artist and CEO of Café Corazón, she has transformed all three café locations into free gallery spaces where local artists can host pop-ups and exhibitions commission free and fully supported. She serves on the board of the Charlotte Street Foundation, a leading arts organization dedicated to providing residencies, funding, and resources to emerging artists. Dulcinea is also a proud Big Sister in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program, mentoring and uplifting the next generation. In addition to her creative and community work, she is a sought-after speaker and moderator, regularly leading panels and engagements for prominent organizations such as the Kauffman Foundation and a variety of nonprofit initiatives.
